Information about the surgery

A rhinoplasty or nose surgery is an operation that modifies the shape of the nose for aesthetic purposes. You can reduce or increase its size, change the shape of the tip, narrow the width of the wings and/or change the angle between the nose and the upper lip.

We are talking about an outpatient surgery; therefore, it does not require hospitalization. After the intervention, the patient will wear a splint that will prevent the nose from inconvenient movements and displacements, ensuring an optimal aesthetic result. The patient will be prescribed antibiotics and analgesics for a week.

Your rhinoplasty in safe hands:

  • Detailed study of your face to ensure a harmonious intervention
  • Spectacular results with the latest techniques in maxillofacial surgery
  • Patient satisfaction is our raison d’être
  • Short and uncomplicated post-operative recovery

Frequently Asked Questions

How to know what kind of nose surgery I need?
A reduction rhinoplasty is indicated for noses with a prominent framework, making it incompatible with a correct facial harmony. An augmentation rhinoplasty is often required in people with a small bridge, such as individuals of Asian or African origin. A septoplasty is performed to correct breathing problems caused by a deviated septum, which can interfere with the air passing through the nose. Septoplasty can be performed along with rhinoplasty: this surgery is called a septorhinoplasty.
What does each type of surgery consist of?
A reduction rhinoplasty is often the most common type of nose surgeries. It consists of the removal of the bone and cartilage that make the nasal dorsum show a hump or protuberance. In an augmentation rhinoplasty, cartilaginous grafts obtained from the nasal septum or, shall this not be possible, from the cartilage of the patient’s ear or rib, are introduced and placed on the framework to increase its volume. A septoplasty consists of the selective removal of the cartilage or bone from the septum, just below the nasal mucosa, by one or more specific surgical techniques, depending on the case.
What kind of anaesthesia is used?
This surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, although in selected cases it can be executed under local anesthesia with sedation.
